What herbal medicine can I take to de-stress my self from wedding stress?
Q. I've started getting quite stressed with planning my wedding eventhough its still 4 months away. I have everything under control, yet I still wake up in the middle of the night worrying about little silly things!! Thing I am just overall stressed and therefore in the night I wake up stressing about minor things. My back and neck are aching from the tension! Can anyone recommend some herbal tablets or anything I can take to relax more and help me de-stress generally? Thanks!!!

Is there any medicine that can relieve stress?
Q. I know natural things, such as lavender, (and I am allergic to most of them,) and I'm not looking for answers like alcohol or marijuana. The stress is borderline anxiety/depression (which I have a recent history of) and I don't want it to get to that point again. I am also willing to hear of anybodies relaxation methods/routines such as bathing with candles.

A. If you get totally stressed all the time go to your family dr. he or she can put you meds. that will help... And yes bathing in a big tub with lots of bubbles and candles works, it does for me... You could try listening to your favorite music, take a walk,, talk to a friend...Or plainly lay down in a quite room and relax, take a drive in the country side...

How come medicine hasn't found a measurable scale for the effects of stress on the heart and rest of the body?
Q. I really think stress is worse than cholesteral ever thought about being.
Asked by Pale Rider - Wed Jan 17 15:11:36 2007 - - 3 Answers - 1 Comments
A. There are hormones that are increased during stress that are measurable, such as cortisol. The hormone is very important for the body to handle acute stress. Medicine has plenty of ways to measure all these and that's not the main problem today. The problem is that people depend on pills so much and they forget how to stay healthy by natural ways- exercise, healthy mentality, good rest and proper diet.

Does Bliss: Anti-Stress Formula have any complexity with anti-depressant or anti-anxiety medicine?
Q. It is reguarding the anxiety caused by depression. The doctor prescribed seroquel (150mg/day) and Remeron (30 mg/day). Seroquel has been taken for 1 month, but the anxiety is still strong. In this case, can bliss: anti-stress formula be helpful? Can it be taken together with other medicine without consulting the doctor?

A. I've just started taking Bliss for my stress and anxiety. I started it two days ago, and so far it seems to be working, though it's subtle. It doesn't hit me like a drug, but I haven't felt anxious the way I normally do for the last couple of days, so I think it's doing the trick! Plus I feel good that it's an herbal supplement. I hope that helps, good luck! As for the two being taken together, I would ask the doctor just in case, or perhaps do some more research before mixing the two.

Q. I bought it over St. Johns Wort hoping it would work quicker... *Natrol not natrom

A. It will work if you expect it to. If you want something with more bite, go to the GP or a psychiatrist. Not only do they have access to stronger medications, but they will also be able to accurately diagnose you to ensure you are taking the _right_ medication from your problem.

When you think about it...how would you explain that people who lived before us survived some of the the craziest times in history without pharmaceuticals ? The plants and herbs around us is our main source to help us with stress, sleep and depression. Spiritual literature helps as well. Before taking any medicines recommended by doctors I would do a thorough research on the meds and get others online real people opinions on any and all. For sleep and "calming down" a friend recommended Quietude. It's all natural, no side effects...and it works. My friend's wife… [cont.]

A. Please see the web page for more details on Statin drugs. Before taking atorvastatin, tell your doctor if you have liver disease. Your doctor will probably tell you not to take Lovastatin, Fluvastatin, Pravastatin and Simvastatin. Consult your doctor. Reduce fat and oils in your diet. Eat a low-cholesterol, low-fat diet. This kind of diet includes cottage cheese, fat-free milk, fish (not canned in oil), vegetables, poultry, egg whites, and polyunsaturated oils and margarines (corn, safflower, canola, and soybean oils). Avoid foods with excess fat in them such as meat (especially liver and fatty meat), egg yolks, whole milk, cream, butter, shortening, lard, pastries, cakes, cookies, gravy, peanut butter, chocolate, olives, potato chips,… [cont.]

What can I take to treat stress which is causing acne and skin conditions?
Q. I know of someone who always seems to break out when she stresses out over something. What can supplements/medicine can she take to counteract stress, or even better, to help for both stress and the skin problem?
Asked by Duanw - Sun Oct 15 12:45:27 2006 - - 12 Answers - 0 Comments
A. exercise is good because it releases endorphines which fight stress and also causes sweat which can release toxins. the skin is the bodies second liver...so if your liver isn't functioning properly it will come out your skin...so drink a lot of water too...at least 4 L a day. if that doesn't work...they might be intolerant to certain foods that are causing an immune response. salt and refined sugar can also cause acne in some people...so limit your sodium intake and cut out all refined sugars.

A. No, you can't get in trouble, but what you need to do is to tell each doctor what the other has prescribed for you. If one knew the other had already given you a similar medication, then he/she wouldn't have prescribed the other one. Talk to each of them and ask what to do.

A. Are you experiencing any physical manifestations as a result of your psychological anguish. If so the Doctor can prescribe tablets to relieve the physical symtoms enabling you to be more open to addressing the pyschological issues. You may find it useful to seek help from a Cognitive therapist which your Doctor can help you with. For a more natural approach ensure you eat a good diet with plenty of serotonin boostings foods such as turkey and bananas. Get plenty of sleep and exercise and avoid alcohol and this eventually makes anxiety worse. A diet rich in omega 3 6 and 9 is shown to relieve symtoms of anxiety and depression. Good luck
